Lauren Deluca is the Executive Director and Founding President of Citizens Interest, a bipartisan, national nonprofit organization. In 2017, she was the victim of medical negligence and denial of appropriate medical care which lead to her development of the disabling conditions she lives with today.

As Executive Director of Citizens Interest, Ms. Deluca is responsible for meeting with policymakers, and other stakeholders to discuss and advocate for federal oversight of public-private partnerships initiatives to ensure the preservation of individual rights and freedoms.

 

Ms. Deluca's dedication, and strategic approach, has led to 27 organizational partners representing over 8,213,783 individuals. Ms. Deluca co-authored an exclusive research report, "Violation of a Nation" in 2019, which was internationally recognized and published by the International Drug Policy Consortium. Ms. Deluca's work in public health policy has led her to become a representative at the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as well as the Vienna Non-Governmental Organizational Committee on Narcotic Drugs (VNGOC) and the United Nations Office of Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC). In 2020, Ms. Deluca served as a subject matter expert for the UNODC and had her contributions included in the first ever international guidance document on the use of public-private partnerships. In recognition of her policy efforts, Ms. Deluca was named one of the International Forum on Advancements in Healthcare Top 100 Healthcare Leaders in 2021, and Marquis Who's Who: Top Executives of 2023.

Prior to founding Citizens Interest she excelled as a Commercial Insurance Account Executive and Risk Manager, where she oversaw high-value commercial accounts for more than 12 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Nichols College, and is a member of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters Society and the International Society of Female Professionals. She credits her success across industries to her determination, positivity, and consistency, and considers anything to be possible with hard work and the right mindset.
