CAUCUSES
A Caucus is an informal group composed of legislators who have shared concerns or interests
ARTHRITIS CAUCUS
Arthritis is the nation’s leading cause of disability, and the Global Healthy Living Foundation, the Coalition of State Rheumatology Organizations (CRSO), and the Arthritis Foundation recognize the impact that it has on the everyday lives of millions of individuals, making work, mobility, access to treatment, and pain management unnecessarily difficult. The Congressional Arthritis Caucus was created to advocate and raise awareness at the federal and local level for the avoidable barriers people face when living with arthritis.
Co-chaired by Representatives David McKinley (R-WV) and Anna Eshoo (D-CA), the Arthritis Caucus exists “to serve as a clearinghouse for arthritis information and a bipartisan forum to guide Members of Congress in working together to address arthritis.” Rep. Eshoo is a dedicated leader in healthcare and health policy, working endlessly on improving issues regarding insurance policies, food supply, research, children’s healthcare, and affordable treatment. Rep. McKinley strongly believes that people with chronic and disabling illnesses have to go through unfair challenges to meet their needs. Campaigning for the Patient Access to Treatments Act (PATA), Rep. McKinley strives to bring fairness to Americans who need life-saving treatments.
Partners within the Congressional Arthritis Caucus include the Center for Disease Control, the National Institutes of Health, and the Department of Defense. These are critical partnerships as they contribute to and influence vast populations effected by arthritis.
Current campaigns within the Congressional Arthritis Caucus advocate for issues concerning biosimilars, formulary transparency, narrow networks, out of pocket costs, prior authorization, and step therapy/fail first. With restless advocacy, members have been able to pass legislation regulating these issues, a sure win for patients, though more needs to be done for continued progress.
PROBLEM SOLVERS CAUCUS
The Problem Solvers Caucus is a group in the United States House of Representatives that has included members equally divided between Democrats and Republicans, with the Caucus' stated goal of fostering bipartisan cooperation on key policy issues. The group was created in January 2017 as an outgrowth of meetings held by political organization No Labels as early as 2014.
THE HOUSE FREEDOM CAUCUS
The House Freedom Caucus gives a voice to countless Americans who feel that Washington does not represent them. We support open, accountable and limited government, the Constitution and the rule of law, and policies that promote the liberty, safety and prosperity of all Americans.
BIPARTISAN WOMEN'S CAUCUS
The Women’s Congressional Policy Institute (WCPI) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy organization whose mission is to bring together a community of bipartisan women policymakers and trusted partners to advance issues of importance to women, develop the next generation of women leaders, and foster a more effective and representative democracy.
BIPARTISAN DISABILITIES CAUCUS
The Bipartisan Disabilities Caucus (BDC) was formed in the 107th Congress, and serves as a groundbreaking forum for Members of Congress and their staff to discuss the many issues affecting people with disabilities. The primary purpose of the Caucus is to inform, educate and raise awareness on issues affecting people with disabilities.
It is estimated that one in five Americans is living with a disability. Most Americans will experience a disability at some point during their lives, either personally or within their families. As advances in public health, medical treatment, and technology enable people to live longer lives and survive once-fatal diseases, the likelihood of their developing a disability increases. It is crucial that we continue our work to create a more accessible and inclusive society for people with disabilities. The BDC has been a leading force in the House of Representatives in promoting measures to accomplish this goal.
BIPARTISAN MENTAL HEALTH & SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TASK FORCE
Our focus is bridging the partisan divide to tackle this crisis, stopping the flow of these dangerous drugs into our communities, expanding access to treatment and care, and helping save lives. This legislative agenda represents the work that lies ahead and the united front that Congress must take to address this crisis.
CONGRESSIONAL ACADEMIC MEDICINE B92:B113 CAUCUS
CONGRESSIONAL ALS CAUCUS
CONGRESSIONAL ANTI-WOKE CAUCUS
The group will include 26 Republican members of Congress and is being led by Indiana Rep. Jim Banks. The caucus hopes to focus on offering amendments that defund and expose wokeness at federal agencies such as the NIH and the DOJ. Banks and the group believe that no piece of legislation that “spends taxpayer dollars on leftist activities should pass out of committee without a recorded vote on an amendment to defund wokeness.”
The Anti-Woke Caucus’s goal is to root out all all far-left political programs from the federal government.

CONGRESSIONAL CELIAC DISEASE CAUCUS
Celiac disease is one of the world’s most prevalent genetic autoimmune diseases, affecting an estimated 3 million Americans, 70-80% of whom are undiagnosed. Causing the body to attack its own small intestine, it can lead to many other devastating health conditions, including cancer. Unfortunately for the millions who suffer, celiac disease has largely been ignored by our federal government which provides little to no funding for research nor for public awareness of its serious consequences. Through strategic investments in research, education, and advocacy, the Celiac Disease Foundation seeks to remedy this by accelerating treatments and a cure.
The Celiac Disease Foundation, established in 1990, is a leading global patient advocacy organization committed to accelerating diagnosis, treatments, and a cure for celiac disease. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of the millions of individuals around the world affected by this genetic autoimmune disease through our strategic investments in research, advocacy, and education. Our iCureCeliac® patient registry and extensive patient recruitment services enable us to identify qualified patient candidates and speed their enrollment to advance critical disease research. Our unparalleled advocacy program has led the way to secure federal recognition and first-ever research funding from agencies including the U.S. National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense. We adhere to the highest scientific and ethical standards as we work each day to promote understanding of celiac disease, empower our patient and provider community, and collaborate with partners and stakeholders to carry our mission forward.
CONGRESSIONAL CHILDHOOD CANCER CAUCUS
Caucus Mission Statement
The mission of the bipartisan Childhood Cancer Caucus is to serve as a clearinghouse for information on pediatric cancer and a forum to aid Members of Congress in working together to address pediatric cancer. The Caucus will strive to raise awareness about pediatric cancer, advocate in support of measures to prevent the pain, suffering and long-term effects of childhood cancers, and work toward the goal of eliminating cancer as a threat to all children.

CONGRESSIONAL CHILDREN'S HEALTH CAUCUS
Representative Kathy Castor and former Representative Dave Reichert founded the bipartisan Children’s Health Care Caucus in 2009 to educate Members of Congress and their staff on ideas to improve the quality of care for children and their access to care.
Today, Representative Kathy Castor and Representative John Joyce are leading the Caucus to build support for efforts to ensure America’s children have access to high-quality, affordable care and that their needs continue to be one of Congress’ top priorities. As we continue to debate important health care issues, children’s health must be at the forefront of any discussion.
CONGRESSIONAL COLORECTAL CANCER CAUCUS
The Congressional CRC Caucus is a bipartisan group of members of Congress led by Rep. Donald M. Payne Jr. (D-NJ) and Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) dedicated to working collaboratively to increase access to screening and advance biomedical research to ensure more effective lines of treatment, and ultimately find a cure for colorectal cancer. The caucus will help to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the colorectal cancer community among policymakers and their staff, as well as support policy solutions to improve the lives of all patients, survivors, and their loved ones.

CONGRESSIONAL DIABETES CAUCUS
The Congressional Diabetes Caucus was formed in 1996 and has grown to be the largest caucus in Congress with over 300 members in the 117th Congress. The mission of the Congressional Diabetes Caucus is to educate members of Congress and their staff about diabetes and to support legislative activities that would improve diabetes research, education and treatment. Our achievements have been significant. We were successful in obtaining $1.5 billion for the Special Diabetes Program, a program that funds juvenile diabetes research and Native American treatment and prevention programs through the Indian Health Service.
We played a key role in helping to enact legislation to provide Medicare coverage for blood testing strips, glucose monitors and diabetes self-management education. We successfully urged the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to provide coverage for insulin infusion pumps. The Postal Service unveiled a diabetes awareness stamp - a measure we actively supported.
While we continue to advocate for the funding recommendations put forth by the Diabetes Research Working Group, increases in research dollars at the CDC and NIH have begun to show results. Islet transplantation trials show promise for curing type 1 (juvenile) diabetes in the near future. Our efforts will continue on type 2 (adult onset) diabetes, which is now beginning to strike individuals in their youth.
CONGRESSIONAL EQUALITY CAUCUS
The Congressional Equality Caucus serves as a resource for Members of Congress, their staff, and the public on LGBTQI+ issues at the federal level. PROVIDE
Provide a forum for members of Congress to discuss their moral frameworks, ethical values, and personal religious journeys.
CONGRESSIONAL GRADUATE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CAUCUS
Across the nation, there are millions of graduate researchers at universities conducting groundbreaking work in coordination with federal research agencies and the private sector. They teach and mentor undergraduate students, enrich society through the arts and humanities, and are future leaders in nearly every sector through starting companies and forming a globally competitive workforce. Graduate researchers’ impact on our collective understanding of the world and contribution to strengthening our nation’s economy is often overlooked and understated despite the fact that behind every major breakthrough is a current or former graduate researcher. For this reason, it is imperative that graduate student researchers have a congressional caucus that represents their interests.
CONGRESSIONAL HIGH TECH CAUCUS
Business is the engine of America’s economy and the High Tech sector is the engine of America’s innovation. Shortly after I was first elected to the United States House, I formed the Congressional High Tech Caucus. Our goal is to find ways to keep America’s tech sector strong and provide our domestic industry with the support it needs to remain on the cutting edge. Bringing together the best and brightest minds in the high tech sector generates the ideas that create high paying jobs and allows us to become a more efficient and competitive nation.
CONGRESSIONAL KIDNEY CAUCUS
In 2002, the Congressional Kidney Caucus was created to educate Members of Congress and the American people about chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the role that the federal government has in providing care to the millions of Americans suffering from CKD.
Today, the Congressional Kidney Caucus has over 50 members and continues to advocate on behalf of kidney patients. Any Member of Congress can join the Congressional Kidney Caucus, so if you see your Representative here, be sure to thank them. If not, you can ask your Representative to join and show their support. We are currently on our 118th Congress! View the members of the 118th Congressional Kidney Caucus below. You can click their name to view their website.
CONGRESSIONAL LUPUS CAUCUS
We worked tirelessly with our champions in Congress to establish the first-ever Congressional Lupus Caucus in 2012.
In the United States Congress, a caucus is a group of lawmakers who share an interest in a particular issue and come together to discuss and advance policies related to it. Caucuses allow legislators to work directly with their colleagues on the issues that they’re passionate about.
Since 2012, the Caucus has grown to include nearly 40 members in the 118th Congress, all united by a connection to lupus and a desire to fight back. The Caucus works to raise awareness about lupus among their colleagues on Capitol Hill and push forward legislation to allocate more funding to lupus research and education, accelerate drug development, and more.
CONGRESSIONAL MAMAS CAUCUS
The Mamas’ Caucus is organized around advocating for mothers of color and their
families and empowering them to be engaged and hold those in charge accountable to
make the changes they want to see. Policies that directly benefit women physically,
mentally, and financially are not just a request, but a necessity. Plans to implement
accessible child care, fair paid leave, and programs that deliver on basic needs are crucial
steps towards equitable growth in America for women and their families. With the
Mamas’ Caucus, women of color will have a voice in the legislative decisions that impact
them and their loved ones, while improving the lives of vulnerable populations.
CONGRESSIONAL MEN'S HEALTH
The Congressional Men’s Health Caucus focuses on raising awareness of health issues that affect men, boys, and their families through educational opportunities and briefings for members of Congress and their staff. The Caucus will also promote healthy lifestyles and physical fitness.

The caucus will serve as an informal group of Members of Congress dedicated to issues related to men’s health.
CONGRESSIONAL MENTAL HEALTH CAUCUS
The Congressional Mental Health Caucus serves as a bipartisan forum where Members of Congress and their staff can work together to elevate mental health issues as a national priority by holding informational briefings to pursue common legislative goals and raising awareness of important mental health issues. We inform and educate all of our colleagues in order to remove stigma, increase access to mental health services, improve work-related productivity, and assure veterans receive access to comprehensive mental health services when they return home.
CONGRESSIONAL NEUROSCIENCE CAUCUS
The bipartisan Congressional Neuroscience Caucus promotes a better understanding of how the brain develops, functions, and ages. Co-chaired by Representative Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) and Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), the caucus seeks to raise awareness about the millions of Americans afflicted with neurological disorders or mental illnesses.

CONGRESSIONAL SERVICE ORGANIZATION CAUCUS
The Congressional Service Organization Caucus recognizes the many nonprofit service organizations across the country and their long history of promoting community service and humanitarian assistance.
These volunteer service organizations have extensive member clubs in towns across America and in nearly every country around the world, and notable examples include distinguished organizations such as Kiwanis International, Lions Clubs International, Optimist International and Rotary International.
The Caucus will serve as a platform for educating Members, staff, and the public on policy issues relating to service organizations. It will also share positive stories from clubs across the country and in hopes of fostering the future viability and continued growth of local service clubs and the work of their volunteers.
CONGRESSIONAL SOCIAL WORK CAUCUS
The Congressional Social Work Caucus was founded in 2010 during the 111th Congress by former Brooklyn Congressman Edolphus “Ed” Towns as a means to provide a platform for social workers to have their voices heard in Congress. The CSWC is currently chaired by Congresswoman Barbara Lee, a Democrat and social worker who represents the 12th Congressional District in California which includes much of the City of Oakland. She holds several leadership roles in the House of Representatives and is the only African American woman to hold a leadership position in the Democratic Caucus where she is Co-Chair of the Policy and Steering Committee.
CONGRESSIONAL STATE MEDICAID EXPANSION CAUCUS
The State Medicaid Expansion Caucus (SMEC) was launched in 2014 to highlight the need for every state to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. In February 2023, Representatives Steve Cohen (TN-09), Hank Johnson (GA-04) and Don Davis (NC-01) relaunched the caucus for the 118th Congress.
More than a decade after Congress passed the Affordable Care Act, it is past time that Congress remind states that the federal government is serious about expanding Medicaid in every state and providing health coverage for the most vulnerable Americans, even if it requires pursuing alternatives to state expansion.
Last active nearly a decade ago, the SMEC will work to build support and urgency for expanding Medicaid in the 11 states that have failed to reach a consensus to do so. As a result of state resistance, nearly 2.2 million Americans remain in the Medicaid coverage gap, leaving them without access to lifesaving care. These Americans are non-elderly, low-income adults, who make too much to qualify for Medicaid but not enough to afford private health insurance. Communities of color and rural Americans are disproportionately represented in the coverage gap and uninsured population.
Medicaid makes health care more affordable and accessible for millions of people with chronic conditions, cancers, disabilities, pregnancies, and other health needs. The SMEC Caucus will lead the charge in Congress to expand Medicaid across the nation.

CREATIVE RIGHTS CAUCUS
Creative works are among our most precious cultural and economic exports because the ingenuity, skill, and craftsmanship of American creators are highly prized, and cannot be duplicated anywhere else in the world.
The economic contribution of the creative community also strengthens America and keeps our nation competitive in the global economy. In fact, the core copyright industries added more than $1.8 trillion to our nation’s GDP and employed 9.6 million people in 2021 alone.
The Creative Rights Caucus serves to educate Members and the public about the importance of preserving and protecting the rights of the creative community in the United States. American creators of motion pictures, music, software, books, visual arts, and other creative works rely on Congress to protect their copyrights, human rights, First Amendment rights, and property rights. The Caucus holds regular meetings with key stakeholders in the creative community to hear about their issues and concerns, and facilitates an informed debate for legislative action that aims to protect their creative rights.
This is about jobs and the economy. We must do all we can to encourage American ingenuity and innovation and create an environment in which members of the creative community can thrive and prosper.
CRIME SURVIVORS AND JUSTICE CAUCUS
The U.S. Congressional Crime Survivors and Justice Caucus (formerly the “U.S. Congressional Victims’ Rights Caucus”) was co-founded in 2005 by two then-freshman Members, Congressman Judge Ted Poe, and Congressman Jim Costa. They shared a belief about elevating the voices of crime victims and survivors within the U.S. Congress in a bipartisan manner; and about the importance of listening to crime survivors and those who serve them to guide Congressional actions that improve services and rights for crime victims.
The Caucus has initiated and supported federal legislation that improves victims’ rights and services and works diligently to protect federal funds that are designated to aid victims and survivors of crime. Throughout each year, the caucus is honored to join with many national, state, tribal, and local victim assistance and justice agencies and organizations to ensure that victims’ voices are truly heard and validated through the implementation of effective policies and programs nationwide.

REPUBLICAN "MAIN STREET" CAUCUS
The Main Street Caucus is a group of 70+ pragmatic conservatives who get things done. We are Republican Members of Congress who are dedicated to strong, conservative principles related to economic, business, environmental, and national security policy, and believe in governing in a thoughtful and pragmatic manner. We are committed to implementing pro-growth policies for small business owners, fostering economic and individual prosperity, and delivering real results for the American people. The Main Street Caucus will be a space for conservative Members to come together to find practical solutions to the many challenges our nation faces.
REPUBLICAN STUDY CAUCUS
The Republican Study Committee (RSC) has served as the conservative caucus of House Republicans and a leading influencer on the Right since its original founding in 1973. It exists to bring like-minded House members together to promote a strong, principled legislative agenda that will limit government, strengthen our national defense, boost America's economy, preserve traditional values and balance our budget.
The RSC provides the tools and research that members of Congress need to craft and advance policies that will benefit the American people. It also provides a forum for like-minded members to join together to support common causes and challenge the status quo. By doing so, the RSC ensures that conservatives have a powerful voice on every issue coming before the House, whether it is the economy, health care, defense, social safety net reform, or Washington's dangerous, out-of-control spending.
We believe that the appropriate role of a limited government is to protect liberty, opportunity, and security, and that it is the responsibility of this generation to preserve them for the next. We believe that more government is the problem, not the solution, for the toughest issues facing our nation. We believe that there is no limit to the ingenuity, innovation, and prosperity Americans create when allowed to live their lives freely, according to their beliefs. We believe that with conservative commitment today, America's brightest days lie ahead.
YOUNG REPUBLICANS CAUCUS
